Wellstar Kennestone ER
Contour performed construction materials testing services and special inspection services on the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Emergency Room. This Emergency Department facility is an approximately 156,000 gsf multi-story structure comprised of 93,600 sf main Emergency Department clinical area of 120 treatment spaces, including related support and an eight modality Imaging area; 33,600 sf, 44-bed outpatient Clinical Decision Unit; and 28,800 sf shell space for future development. In addition to the 156,000 clinical, admin, and shell areas above, there is planned mechanical rooms, building dock and storage, elevator lobby to rooftop heliport, flight support quarters, and a two-story pedestrian bridge (connecting the new emergency department facility to the existing Kennestone Hospital), all summarized at 24,000 sf, for a total of 180,000 sf. Not included in the square feet above but included in the overall project is structured parking below the building for 335 vehicles, patient drop-off, and an ambulance plaza.
